THESE STREETS

Releasing June 26, 2026

This song is a love letter to the surprisingly diverse street where I grew up and a call to action against the violence and division of our streets today.  It's been difficult to reconcile the little melting pot of my hometown hill with where we are now.  I wrote this to help me process and shine a light on the values and respect for other cultures that was foundational to my childhood. What was your street like?

I hope you listen to These Streets and that it sparks a little conversation and reflection on the kind of country and communities we want to build together.

All We Need

2020

McCloud was thrilled to record with a stellar line up of musicians – celebrated and seasoned talents from both country music and rock and roll. It’s not every day that a singer/songwriter debut gets veterans from Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen and The Who in the studio, but bassist Jon Button, pedal steel and dobro great Marty Rifkin, and percussionist Wally Ingram provide the goods and then some, as does the famed bluegrass fiddler Gabe Witcher and David Yorkin, on acoustic guitar. Legendary drummer Frank Ferrer of Guns and Roses and revered session drummer Robin Diaz lay down the beats on several tracks. Kurt Kassulke, and Tanya Haden of The Haden Triplets lend exquisite harmony vocals. Ched Tolliver, who co-wrote and produced All We Need, plays guitars, piano, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, you name it! All We Need captures an irresistible mix of country with a little rock and roll.

ABOUT

Mary McCloud is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and influenced by her mother’s love of country music, Mary’s musical marrow was formed early by the sounds of WSM radio and the Grand Ole Opry. Today, her music blends the familiarity of the American Songbook with indie, folk, and roots-inspired styles of modern Americana.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Mary performed on the Los Angeles club circuit, singing with bands The Bordersnakes and Scarecrow, and playing iconic venues such as The Mint, The Troubadour, and The Viper Room. Her first solo album, Wings of My Own (2004), reflects an artist bridging the country sounds of her upbringing with the storytelling spirit of Los Angeles. Featuring fiddle, mandolin, and pedal steel, the album blends classic country influences with folk-leaning lyricism, along with reinterpretations of songs by artists such as Jimmie Rodgers, John Hiatt, and Patsy Cline.

After a hiatus to focus on family, Mary’s return to the studio marked a structural shift from interpreter to creator. Her 2020 album, All We Need, was recorded in legendary Los Angeles studios with an acclaimed lineup of musicians whose credits include work with artists such as Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen, and Guns N' Roses. Developed with producer and co-writer Ched Tolliver, the album captures an irresistible mix of country, intimate storytelling, and a little rock and roll.

Whether interpreting someone else’s song or writing her own, Mary approaches music as a form of connection and self-discovery. She continues to perform live, recently appearing with the gypsy jazz group The Cat’s Meow in West Hollywood. New material coming in 2026 includes the topical protest song “These Streets” and the upbeat “Wanna Go,” while her single “Sweet Escape” will appear in the feature film Spa Weekend. Rooted in ache and twang yet always evolving, Mary creates music that invites her audience to tap their toes, lean into the heartache, and revisit the timeless tug of Americana storytelling.
